Slipware Red Clay Mug with Green Marks #2403
 
This sweet slipware piece was thrown on the wheel out of a red clay, handled, white slip was applied over the surface. This technique leads to a very luminous surface, with the red clay adding depth, and the white slip adding brightness. On top of the white slip, some green slip was dotted, in irregular patterns. It has a clear glaze over the top. These pieces are made of midrange clay, and fired to cone 5 in oxidation. 
 
As with all of our pottery, this mug is food, dishwasher and microwave safe.
